From great museums, restaurants, shops, and more, there is plenty to do in Ypsilanti. However, figuring out parking can be challenging from time to time. Read below for an easy guide to parking in Downtown Ypsi, and our solution for affordable all day parking! (Spoiler alert here!)
As displayed in the map above, there are plenty of spaces available in Downtown Ypsi. All parking is also FREE after 6pm and on the weekends. But where is a good place to park the rest of the time?
From 8am to 6pm North Adams Lot (A - 2 hour limit) and Washington Lot (B - 10 hour limit) both offer metered parking for 75 cents a hour. Make sure you have enough quarters if you plan on parking for the day in Lot B. Metered on-street parking is also available on Adams, S. Huron, Pearl, and N. Huron.
The City of Ypsilanti also offers free 2 hour parking in N. Huron Lot (C) and S. Huron Lot (E). You can also park on Michigan avenue west of Adams street for 2 hours.
Riverside Lot (D) is free all the time with no restrictions! While it is farther than some of the other walks, it does allow you to see the Huron River and go through Downtown Ypsi!
Still need more options? City Hall Lot and Riverside Arts Lot are available free after 6pm and on the weekends. But what you if you are low of coins, don't want to move your car every two hours, or risk playing parking roulette with Ypsilanti's notoriously efficient parking enforcement?
The City of Ypsilanti offers that passes that can be purchased at City Hall. $300 for an annual pass or $115 for four months. These passes are only for the S Huron lot or the N Washington lot. There is also the option of buying passes from The Ypsilanti Performance Space. These can be purchased directly at The YPSI and cost $240 for a year or $30 a month. They are located at N. Do you only need a single all-day pass? This is where The BOS has you covered! In collaboration with The Ypsilanti Performance Space (The YPSI), you can sign up to become a member of the BOS and get access to $5 Day Parking Pass for you and your guests! The YPSI is located at 218 N. Adams Street, Ypsilanti, MI 48197 and only two blocks away from The BOS and the rest of downtown.
To get an all-day parking pass, simply sign up to become a Friend of the Back Office Studio. From there, click the "Reservations" tab on the top of the page, and click "Parking - Day Passes" from the dropdown menu. From there, click the "Book Now" button and reserve your pass. We'll send it right to you through email!
